Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that the Kingdom's presidency, in partnership with the French Republic, of the international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue through peaceful solutions and implement the two-state solution, stems from the Kingdom's firm position on the Palestinian issue and is a continuation of its efforts to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Two-state solution implementation conference
“The Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and with the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect them - is making every effort to establish a just peace in the Middle East region. It always seeks, based on its established principles, to spread international peace and security through good offices and efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, and stop the ongoing cycle of violence and the prolonged Palestinian conflict against the Israeli occupation, which has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of innocent civilians and fueled hatred among the peoples of the region and the world,” the Foreign Minister added in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Saudi Arabia's support for Palestine
His Highness continued: “It is from this perspective that the Kingdom, in partnership with France, is chairing the high-level international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue through peaceful solutions and implement the two-state solution at the ministerial level. The conference will be held this week at the United Nations headquarters in New York City with broad international participation. We look forward to advancing the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions that call for the establishment of two states in which the Palestinians enjoy their independent state, achieving peace and stability for the region, and pushing it forward towards development and prosperity.”
The Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the conference supports the efforts of the international coalition to implement the two-state solution launched by the Kingdom, the Kingdom of Norway, and the European Union in September 2024. It complements the efforts of the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee aimed at ending the suffering of the Palestinian people, enabling them to regain their legitimate rights, and achieving comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the Middle East.
