Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al Baha Region, has directed that the 4th edition of the International Honey Festival, held in Raghadan Forest, be extended for an additional five days, until August 2025, XNUMX. This extension comes in response to the growing number of visitors from within and outside the region, and in response to the interest of participating beekeepers and exhibitors.
International Honey Festival
The International Honey Festival is one of the most prominent seasonal events, featuring a unique blend of economic dimensions and tourism promotion. The festival contributes to highlighting the rich honey for which the Al Baha region is famous and highlights national efforts to support beekeepers and their products, enhancing the region's position as a prominent tourist and commercial destination for honey production.
The festival was widely attended by honey industry enthusiasts, as well as visitors from across the Kingdom, who expressed their admiration for the diverse honey offerings. More than fifty varieties of natural honey were on display, including Majra honey, considered one of the rarest and most expensive types, due to its reliance on the rare "Majra" plant, which grows high in the mountains.
Various types of natural honey
The festival showcases a variety of unique and distinctive honey varieties, such as qatad honey, which boasts high nutritional value despite its lower price compared to other types. This diversity of varieties is evidence of the richness of the local environment and its natural products.
Supporting the honey industry and beekeepers
The International Honey Festival is an important platform for local beekeepers to showcase their products and honey-making skills. The festival also provides them with commercial and promotional opportunities through meetings with interested visitors and investors. This event is an ideal opportunity to contribute to the promotion and development of the honey industry, serving the local and national economy.
