In the heart of Abha, a city steeped in heritage and beauty, the Wasl Asir Food Festival is launching, offering a rich experience that combines southern flavor and local culture. A selection of the region's most prominent chefs will participate in the festival, presenting 15 daily dishes of traditional Asir cuisine, in an atmosphere that celebrates identity and diversity.
Events that combine cooking and art
The experience isn't just about food; the festival also includes dazzling folklore performances, live cultural experiences such as henna tattooing and rose-ring making, as well as a bazaar selling handicrafts that reflect the spirit of the South.
Southern Flavors for a Whole Month
From August 5 to September 1, 2025, the event will run for 30 days, giving visitors the opportunity to explore authentic Asir cuisine in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, amidst Asir's enchanting nature.
Interact and learn with cooking workshops
The festival opens its doors to visitors to taste traditional dishes and participate in interactive cooking workshops, such as trying tandoori bread and preparing areika and porridge, under the supervision of local and international chefs who share the secrets of southern cuisine.
From farm to table
The festival includes a dedicated aisle for farmers to display and sell their fresh seasonal fruit products, offering visitors a unique journey from milking cows to grinding grains, to making fresh bread in the traditional way.
