In the first half of 2025, Saudi Arabia's flyadeal achieved a qualitative leap that positioned it at the forefront of the global aviation scene, cementing its position as the fastest-growing low-cost airline, not only in the Kingdom but also globally.
Exceptional performance in passenger numbers and destinations
Flyadeal carried more than 5 million passengers in the first six months of the year, achieving a 25% growth compared to the same period in 2024, a rate that exceeded the 21% increase in operating capacity.
The company launched more than 33,400 flights, exceeding 200 daily flights for the first time since its founding in 2017. The number of destinations increased by 57% to 127, operating from three main bases in Saudi Arabia.
World's first in punctuality
In a remarkable global achievement, flyadeal was named the world's most punctual airline for June 2025, with an operational accuracy rate of 91.77% for flights arriving on time.
It also maintained its position as the best low-cost carrier in the Middle East in terms of on-time performance for six consecutive months.
Unprecedented fleet and network expansion
The company strengthened its operations by adding five new aircraft, bringing its fleet to 40.
It also expanded for the first time into South Asia by launching its first scheduled flights to Pakistan, and opened new destinations such as Karachi, Istanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport, and Alexandria as an annual stop in Egypt.
The most important achievements during the first half of 2025
- Officially join the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
- Launching a partnership program with Al Fursan to earn and redeem miles.
-Submitting a historic order to purchase 10 A330 wide-body aircraft for long-haul flights.
- Graduation of the first batch of 10 Saudi pilots under the government scholarship program.
-Training the hospitality staff to become certified tour guides.
- Increase the number of employees by 21% to reach 1600 employees.
Ambitious expansion plans for the second half of the year
The company intends to strengthen its presence in the Pakistani market by adding new destinations, including Islamabad, Sialkot, and Peshawar, while continuing to support its future vision of carrying 40 million passengers by the end of the year.
It also seeks to expand its network to more than 100 destinations and operate more than 100 aircraft by 2030, in full alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which places the aviation and tourism sectors at the heart of national transformation.
An advanced business model without compromising the “low-cost carrier” identity.
Stephen Greenway, the company's CEO, noted that flyadeal is evolving its business model by entering into new strategic partnerships, such as the cross-leasing agreement with the Philippines' Cebu Pacific, without abandoning its identity as a low-cost carrier.
He also stressed that the focus will remain on operational excellence and achieving sustainable growth rates while providing high-quality service at competitive prices.
What is Flyadeal?
Since its launch on Saudi National Day in 2017, flyadeal has established itself as the first low-cost airline to rely entirely on digital channels, targeting a tech-savvy youth segment in a market characterized by a high youth population.
It is a subsidiary of the Saudi Arabian Airlines Group, offering convenient flights for various purposes: tourism, visits, business, Hajj, and Umrah.
With its largest-ever order for 2024 new aircraft, including 51 long-haul A10s, in May 330, AdAle is poised to enter a new phase of expansion and leadership in the aviation sector.
