The National Center of Meteorology issued its daily weather report for Wednesday, predicting continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms, leading to flash floods, accompanied by hail and strong winds that will limit horizontal visibility in parts of Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah.
Heavy rains and floods
The center explained that the rainy conditions will also extend, at a light to moderate level, to the southern parts of the Eastern Province, Riyadh, Hail, and parts of the Qassim region. It also did not rule out the formation of fog in the highlands of the southwest of the Kingdom.
Dust and active winds on the coasts
The report indicated that surface winds, causing dust storms, will be active along the coastal areas extending from Medina to Jazan, which could lead to reduced horizontal visibility.
The Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf
Regarding the marine weather conditions: Surface winds on the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at a speed of 20-45 km/h, reaching more than 55 km/h with thunderstorms and rain. Wave heights will range from one to two meters, reaching more than two and a half meters in the central and southern parts, where the sea will be choppy.
As for the Arabian Gulf, the winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly at a speed of 15-30 km/h, and the waves will be between half a meter and a half meters high, while the sea will be light to medium waves.
Alert and warning
The center called on everyone to exercise caution, stay away from floodwaters, and follow safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities, especially in areas experiencing thunderstorms and strong winds in the coming hours.
