The National Center of Meteorology reported in its daily weather report that the Kingdom remains under the influence of unstable weather conditions, with the potential for moderate to heavy thunderstorms across several regions. This could lead to flash floods, along with active winds that could raise dust and sand.
Saudi Arabia weather
According to the report, the affected areas include Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and Madinah Al-Munawwarah, while light to moderate rainfall is expected in parts of the Eastern Province, Riyadh, Qassim, and Hail.
The report also indicated that fog will continue to form over parts of the southwestern highlands, urging caution while driving, especially in the early morning hours.
The Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf
On the Red Sea, surface winds will be northwesterly to northerly, ranging in speed from 20 to 42 km/h, and may reach more than 55 km/h at times, especially with the formation of thunderstorms and rain over the central and southern parts.
Wave heights are expected to range from one to two metres, and may reach more than two and a half metres. Sea conditions will be light to moderate, and may become choppy in areas affected by thunderstorms.
As for the Arabian Gulf, the winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly at a speed of 15 to 30 km/h, with waves ranging from half a metre to one and a half metres high, and the sea state will be light to medium waves.
Warnings and recommendations
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) urged citizens and residents to monitor daily reports and adhere to safety instructions, especially in areas experiencing heavy rain and flash floods. Beachgoers were also advised to exercise caution due to expected sea disturbances, particularly in the Red Sea.
