Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin have announced a recall of a number of their vehicles due to safety concerns, amid warnings that these problems could affect the safety of drivers and passengers.
Mercedes and Aston recall
Mercedes-Benz has announced a recall of 3,749 vehicles from the 2023 to 2026 model years, including the GLC, GLC Coupe, and EQE models across the range. The recall is due to the possibility of loose bolts in the steering linkage, which could lead to loosening over time and the driver losing control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) explained that the problem is due to a defect in the production process, where some bolts may have been forgotten during assembly. The issue began last July after receiving a report of an abnormal noise in the steering system. An investigation revealed that the cause was a bolt that was not properly installed.
Mercedes indicated that the fix for the problem is simple, and dealers will tighten the screws securely, with notifications being sent to affected owners starting October 17.
sir Aston Martin Due to a malfunction
In a related development, Aston Martin announced a recall of 178 2025 Vanquish vehicles after discovering a potential defect in the brake vacuum pump. Authorities stated that this pump may fail to generate the required vacuum under certain conditions, resulting in a loss of brake support and reduced brake effectiveness.
Aston Martin confirmed that it will cooperate with its dealers to inspect affected vehicles and repair the defect to maintain the highest safety standards.
Advice for drivers
Safety experts advise owners of affected vehicles to contact authorized dealers for immediate inspection and repairs to avoid potential hazards resulting from these malfunctions.
