The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced, in its monthly report issued today on the performance of the Kingdom’s airports during July 2025, the achievement of remarkable successes in the airports’ commitment to operational and service standards, within the framework of implementing (11) basic standards aimed at raising the efficiency of services and enhancing the passenger experience at all the Kingdom’s airports.

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh achieved first place in the category of international airports with more than 15 million passengers annually, with a compliance rate of 82%, outperforming King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which came in second with a similar compliance rate, but with Riyadh Airport outperforming the percentage of achieving precise standards.
In the category of international airports with passenger numbers ranging from 5 to 15 million, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina topped the list with a compliance rate of 91%, an achievement that reflects the remarkable development in the services provided and the airport’s ability to meet the needs of the growing travel traffic.

As for the category of international airports that receive between 2 and 5 million passengers annually, Abha International Airport topped the list, achieving a full compliance rate (100%), thanks to its superiority in reducing average waiting times for arriving and departing flights, which reflects the level of operational discipline and speed of services.
Saudi airports lead in performance
In the fourth category, which includes international airports with fewer than two million passengers annually, Arar International Airport came in first with a 100% compliance rate, outperforming all airports in its category in terms of efficiency and smooth procedures.
Domestic airports, in turn, continued to achieve outstanding results, with Al-Qurayyat Airport achieving first place in its category with a 100% compliance rate, confirming its full commitment to reducing waiting times and achieving the highest levels of passenger satisfaction.
This report is a clear testament to the intensive efforts made by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) to improve the quality of services and enhance operational performance at Saudi airports. This is part of an ambitious strategy aligned with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to establish the Kingdom as a leading global hub for aviation and air transport services.
The authority confirmed that the evaluation is conducted according to precise criteria, including: waiting times for travel procedures, speed of baggage collection, performance at passport and customs areas, services for people with disabilities, and global general quality indicators.
