The Saudi youth team is participating for the first time in the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI 2025), in its ninth edition, hosted by Shumen, Bulgaria, from August 29 to September 4, 2025, with wide participation from students under the age of 15 from various European countries and a number of countries around the world.

This participation comes as part of the efforts of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, to enhance the Kingdom's representation in international programming and IT competitions and empower students with future digital skills, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
4 students representing the Kingdom
The Kingdom is represented in this edition of the Olympiad by four students from the third intermediate grade, who were nominated after intensive training and qualification programs. They are:

A platform for discovering technical talents globally
The European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJIO) is a prestigious educational platform that aims to encourage students at an early age to develop their programming and technology skills. The competition is held according to the standards of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), the first edition of which was launched in Bulgaria in 2017.
The competition focuses on promoting innovation and creativity in computer science, discovering and nurturing young digital talent, and honoring the best competitors in solving complex programming problems.

The Kingdom's participation in this Olympiad comes within the framework of supporting digital transformation and building a national generation empowered in technology and programming, contributing to the Kingdom's global leadership in the fields of artificial intelligence and the knowledge economy.
Mawhiba Foundation emphasized that the participation of Saudi students in such competitions reflects its commitment to providing a stimulating environment for talented individuals and harnessing international and local partnerships to prepare them and enable them to excel on the global stage.
