In a humanitarian gesture that reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's pioneering role in international relief and medical work, a medical convoy affiliated with the World Assembly of Muslim Youth succeeded in ending the suffering of a Somali patient who had been suffering for more than two years due to severe urinary obstruction caused by an enlarged prostate. The operation was successful, restoring his health and dignity.

The patient lives in Ethiopia's Somali region, where he endured a painful journey amid a severe shortage of medical services. Urinating—a basic human right—has become almost impossible, and the pain increases daily with no hope of treatment.

With the arrival of the Saudi medical convoy to the region, Dr. Adel Al-Obaidi, from King Faisal Medical Complex, led the case. Thorough examinations were performed, a clear diagnosis was made, and the journey of hope began with the necessary prostatectomy.

A message that transcends borders
This case embodies the Kingdom's humanitarian message, which transcends geography. Saudi medical personnel are contributing to alleviating the suffering of those in need in crisis areas, as part of the ongoing efforts of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth convoys, which operate under the slogan "Saudi Arabia: Giving and Humanity."
Through these efforts, the Kingdom affirms its ongoing commitment to the values of compassion and solidarity, by supporting poor communities and providing medical care where it is most needed.
