Saudi airports lead in punctuality
The General Authority of Civil Aviation's July 2025 report showed that a number of national airports excelled in adhering to flight schedules, with departures and arrivals occurring within less than 15 minutes of the scheduled time, reflecting high levels of organization and outstanding operational efficiency.
- Large international airports category (more than 15 million passengers annually):
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh ranked first with a compliance rate of 84%.
Medium international airport category (5-15 million passengers annually):
King Fahd International Airport in Dammam ranked first with 84%.
-Small international airports category (2-5 million passengers annually):
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan recorded the highest compliance rate of 91%.
-Very small international airports category (less than 2 million passengers annually):
Neom Bay International Airport topped the list with a score of 98%.
-Domestic airports:
King Saud bin Abdulaziz Airport in Al Baha achieved first place with a rate of 98%.
Saudi airlines are raising the quality of the travel experience.
At the airline level, national air carriers recorded outstanding performance:
Saudi Airlines: 89% compliance in arrivals and 87% in departures.
Flynas: 84% compliance in arrival and 86% in departure.
Flyadeal: 87% compliance on arrival and 90% on departure.
This performance reflects the companies' commitment to providing a more precise and streamlined travel experience, enhancing traveler satisfaction and enabling them to plan their trips with confidence.
The most committed air routes
Some domestic and international flights recorded high levels of punctuality:
- Domestic flights: Tabuk-Riyadh flight and Jizan-Riyadh flight, with a commitment rate of 96%.
- International flights: The Jeddah-Doha flight recorded the highest compliance rate of 95%.
