The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to implement its Vision 2030 roadmap for the future, which aims to achieve sustainable economic development and enhance its cultural standing on the global stage.

In this context, AlUla and Diriyah are two of the most prominent historical landmarks that represent a link between Saudi heritage and modern development, making them an essential part of the Kingdom's efforts to achieve this vision.

AlUla: A global cultural destination within Vision 2030

AlUla is a living example of embodying national heritage alongside sustainable development. This historic city is one of the most prominent cultural tourism milestones of Saudi Vision 2030. Home to the famous Mada'in Saleh and Nabataean archaeological sites, AlUla is currently undergoing a massive rehabilitation project to transform the area into a global tourist destination.

The AlUla Cultural Project is part of Vision 2030, which focuses on achieving economic diversification by investing in heritage to enhance the tourism sector. The region has been developed to include modern tourist facilities such as museums and cultural centers, in addition to hosting international events that highlight the Kingdom's culture and history, making it a global center for arts and heritage.

One of the project's most prominent landmarks is the city of AlUla, which includes several important tourist sites, such as Qasr Al-Farid and Mada'in Saleh. The project seeks to integrate modern technologies into its heritage presentation, while preserving the site's cultural and historical identity.

The cradle of the first Saudi state within the framework of the modern vision

Diriyah is one of the oldest and most important historical sites in the Kingdom, the birthplace of the Saudi state and one of its most prominent historical landmarks. In accordance with Vision 2030, the Diriyah Development Project is one of the projects that seeks to achieve the vision's goals of developing the tourism sector and strengthening cultural identity.

The project aims to revitalize the At-Turaif district, the most important historical part of Diriyah, and transform it into a cultural center and global tourist attraction. The area has witnessed massive restoration and infrastructure development, in line with global trends in cultural tourism.

Thus, Diriyah contributes to achieving Vision 2030 by promoting cultural tourism, developing the national economy, creating new job opportunities, and consolidating the Kingdom's position as a leading global cultural destination.

Historical monuments as a cornerstone of Vision 2030

AlUla and Diriyah are not only historical landmarks; they are also an essential part of the Kingdom's economic and cultural strategy, which aims to achieve sustainable development and diversify the Saudi economy away from its dependence on oil. By transforming these landmarks into global tourist destinations, the Kingdom enhances its cultural standing, supports economic development by increasing tourism revenues, and creates new job opportunities for Saudi youth.

Vision 2030 also emphasizes the need to leverage cultural heritage to deliver innovative tourism that meets the aspirations of future generations and contributes to reshaping the Kingdom's identity in a new era of modernity and technology.

AlUla and Diriyah are a living symbol of Saudi Arabia's ability to blend the past with the future. Vision 2030 is being realized by strengthening the cultural tourism sector and developing historical sites into global tourist attractions. In doing so, the Kingdom affirms its deep commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while continuing to advance toward a bright future.
