The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia concluded its participation in the sixty-ninth meeting of the Trade Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held in the State of Kuwait, headed by His Excellency the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi, on behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of a number of important topics related to enhancing Gulf economic integration, as Their Excellencies and Highnesses discussed the latest developments in negotiations on free trade agreements with countries and international blocs, in addition to following up on joint commercial regulations (laws) projects between the GCC countries, and discussing the work of the Investment Agents Committee, in a way that contributes to supporting the investment and trade environment in the region.
The committee also reviewed the report of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council on the work of its affiliated committees, in addition to following up on the implementation of previous decisions, within the efforts of member states to enhance coordination and integration in trade policies.
The Kingdom's delegation also participated in the tenth meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs in the GCC countries, which discussed developments in the work of the Gulf Standardization Organization and reviewed the progress of implementing previous decisions in the areas of standardization, aimed at facilitating intra-regional trade and supporting joint Gulf economic growth.
The delegation also participated in the sixth consultative meeting between the Ministers of Trade and Industry of the GCC countries and Gulf entrepreneurs, which aims to enhance communication with the private sector and support Gulf entrepreneurship.
On the sidelines of the meetings, His Excellency Dr. Saad Al-Qasabi held a number of bilateral meetings with the Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry, Khalifa bin Abdullah Al-Askar, the Bahraini Minister of Industry and Trade, Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, the British Minister of State for Trade, Chris Bryant, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, Hassan bin Muajeb Al-Huwaizi, and the Chairman of the Federation of GCC Chambers, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Rawas, during which ways to enhance joint trade and industrial cooperation were discussed.
The Kingdom’s presence and active participation in these meetings confirms its support for the joint Gulf action process and its keenness to develop the regional and international trade and investment system in a way that serves the goals of sustainable development in the GCC countries.
