Announced General Directorate of Passports In Saudi Arabia, details were provided regarding the issuance of a resident identity card through the Absher electronic platform, emphasizing a set of conditions that must be met to complete this process correctly.
Passports Department clarifies conditions for issuing a resident ID
The Passports Department explained that the employer can issue the ID through the “Absher” or “Muqeem” platform after paying the prescribed fees through these electronic services, which facilitate procedures for citizens and residents.
The Passports Department also stated that a medical examination is a prerequisite for completing the issuance of the identity card, a regulatory procedure aimed at ensuring the safety and health of residents within the Kingdom.
In a related context, the Passports Department warned that delaying the issuance of a resident identity card after 90 days from the date of entry into the Kingdom will result in a fine of 500 Saudi Riyals, calling for adherence to the specified deadlines to avoid any fines or penalties.
It is worth noting that these procedures aim to facilitate and develop the processes of providing services to residents within the framework of the digital transformation in the Kingdom, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 in enhancing efficiency and electronic procedures.
